Donkvissers Oudenaarde vzw (DVO) was founded in January 2000. We are a recognised sports club representing carp, coarse and predator anglers in and around Oudenaarde. Our home water is the Donkvijver.
Our aims
- To practise angling in a natural setting in and around Oudenaarde, and especially on the Donkvijver.
- To represent anglers from all disciplines in dialogue with the relevant authorities.
- To work with anglers on fish stock management: monitoring and caring for existing fish populations.
- To help maintain and improve the fishing spots on local waters.
- To work together with similar initiatives and local government.
How we do it
- We organise events on the Donkvijver and other waters in the area.
- We run a steward programme together with Sportvisserij Vlaanderen, the Agency for Nature and Forests, the city of Oudenaarde and the police.
- We collect and keep catch records for the different fish species.
- We organise clean-up and pruning days in consultation with the relevant authorities.
- We stay in dialogue with our members, similar initiatives and the relevant services.
- We have the soil and water quality analysed, and take action where and when needed.
- We protect the natural character of the fishing spots and improve it where we can.
Our fishing waters
We fish all (public) fishable waters within the municipality of Oudenaarde, and especially the Donkvijver.
